One song that keeps on playing on my head recently is My
Favorite Things. When I was listening to Yolanda Adams’ version of this song,
it was a little bit different from the original version of Maria’s. I was
reminded that back then this song was truly a beautiful song taken from the
film The Sound of Music. Oh, I think that your childhood won’t be so memorable
without the songs from The Sound of Music. Few years ago when I was learning
jazz piano, I could sense that this song would be beyond wonderful if sung by a
black woman. And it was proven by Mrs. Adams.
I lurrrrveee it so much that I would always tap my feet on the ground
every time it is being played.
Gee! There is nothing more beautiful than remembering those
old glorious times. When your world involves the epic view of tiny raindrops
falling on the pink roses,
when you can see a wild goose flying without even thinking about tomorrow; that’s when your life seems so bearable. You would adore the appearance of a little girl wearing a white dress on somebody’s wedding. Or even, the smell of rain… That’s just too marvelous to be pictured by words.
And… life is really, really far from such things. So sad,
but true …When you tried to enjoy the view of the garden, you failed to do so because
of the trauma that the bee-sting caused that would have hurt you. You got
bitten while you are wishing to have a good relationship with the as-it-seems-adorable
puppy. What seems to be lovely is sometimes too painful to be loved and
possessed.
Expecting life to be always full of beauty is like expecting
seasons to turn into spring throughout the year. Yes, it’s painful to have flowers
turn brownish just to see it falling from the trees. It’s always been harsh to go
through the stormy nights.. And it’s alright to cry because there are many
painful things in life. And even you just have to stop running for a while, and
just rest in God’s shoulder. He knows. He understands that life is hard.
Here comes the silver lining, when everything seems to be
broken, God has prepared all beautiful things out of us and for us. Have you
counted your blessings today? Get ready to be startled when you count all the
beautiful things around you because they are a gift from heavenly Father. They’re
the things that might seem so little yet when you open your heart, they might
turn to smell and taste like whatever you call it Heavens. Have a good day!
